Kachina

Inspired by the kachina dolls made by hopi native Americans, they were deities that would visit from the stars and help out the humans bringing rain, healing etc. They weren't gods to be worshipped they were said to be human like in that they had human like relationships such as families. To me they seemed like an advanced human like alien race that used alien technology to help out more primitive sentient life in the universe.
